Service Experience and Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located? Our Sunday morning, 10:30am service, is located at 1401 West State Street in Rockford, IL. The third Thursday of each month, our Real Life Experience service is also held at this location beginning at 7:00pm. To see a map or to get directions, Click Here.
How should I dress? At Banner of Truth Family Church, our dress code is laid back. You will see members in suits and dresses as well as jeans and T-shirts. On Thursday nights our Real Life Experience service is casual dress.
Who attends? It would be easier to say who doesn’t! We have young and old, single and married, those with and without children and various races. The majority of our members are families with children and teenagers, but there are also young married couples and singles of all ages.
What is the music like? We have contemporary praise and worship that lasts from 20–30 minutes.
What do I do with my baby or toddler? On Sundays, you can have your child in service with you or take advantage of our nursery that is equipped for children, newborn to age five. A Welcome Center Team Member or any Usher can direct you to sign-in. And rest assured that our nursery staff are all pre-screened with background checks to ensure the highest standard of safety. Where do my children go? Your children ages 6-12 can stay in service with you or go to our fun-filled and God-centered Children's Church. If you choose to have your kids attend Children's Church, be sure to sign your child up at the registration table outside the sanctuary before service. After praise and worship, the children will then all be dismissed together for their own service with special messages and activities teaching them the basics of God’s Word at their level. What is in store for my teenagers? Here at Banner of Truth Family Church, we believe in training our youth to function in ministry. We offer CYT (Children/Youth Training) for ages 12-17 which allows your child to volunteer in various ministries in our church such as ushering or nursery assistance. We also offer frequent outing events for our youth to engage in a positive environment with their peers. For more information about our Youth Ministry, click here.
Who will be working with my children? Not only do we have policies and procedures in place, but we also do a background check on everyone who works with our children and youth. Our volunteers are well-trained and love working with children and youth to help them grow in their walk with God.
Where do I park? Our parking lot is next to our church building. We invite our guests and visitors to park in our special guest parking area.
Where do I go? The Sunday morning service starts at 10:30am in the main sanctuary. We also have handicap accessibility in the lower level. Ushers and greeters are at the entrance to direct you to where you need to go.

How often do you hold Communion? We celebrate Communion. Announcements are made at least one week prior to communion Sundays.
Do you do water baptisms and baby dedications? Yes. We do each of these a few times a year. Announcements are made for each in the church bulletin.
Where is the church’s lost and found located? Our Lost and Found is located in the lower level fellowship hall near the East Hinkley Street exit. Items not claimed on Sunday mornings may be picked up Monday-Thursday during regular business hours. You may want to call ahead to see if your item is there, the main office number is 815-968-0026.
Is the church handicap accessible? Yes. We have accessibility from the main door to the lower level with a wheelchair chair lift for service viewing. There is also a handicap accessible restroom for your convenience.
